Myxedema coma – morning report 7/3

This morning we discussed a case of a patient with periorbital edema which was diagnosed with myxedmea coma. This was precipitated by cellulitis in this patient with partially treated hypothyroidism . This review discusses other precipitating factors (infections are the usually the culprit) and treatment of myxedema coma. Don’t forget the ‘roids!
